Nestled in the foothills of California’s Sierra Nevada, this five thousand square foot winery is designed and constructed using the most advanced building technology available. Employing the Energy Mass™ smart-building system, the winery harvests “free” night cooling storing it for daytime use. A computer controlled cooling system, embedded in the Energy Mass™ wall, maintains constant cellar temperature, keeping evaporative losses under 1% while using only 20% of the energy required with conventional winery construction. The Energy Mass™ smart - building technology returns $50,000.00 ($10.00 / sq. ft.) annually to the owners through its evaporative loss and energy savings alone.
