Amador Cellars

Cost effectiveness, energy efficiency, structural strength, and seismic safety are the primary benefits of a recently built 2,000 sq. ft. straw bale (SMS) winery building at Amador Cellars in Plymouth, CA. The boutique winery produces up to 5,000 cases a year. Fermenting, barrel storage and tasting all take place inside the confines of the super-insulated walls, while barn style doors at either end expand the work area, including a covered crush pad.
